Para penumpang kami tercinta/ Dear passenger...

That is the greeting you will get when you are flying with Adam Air. Not "Para penumpang terhormat/ Ladies and Gentleman..."

I read about this new airline early this year, being amazed by a twenty two-year-old guy (same age!) who run a family business as a CEO. The guy name is Adam, and I guess that's why the company is named after him. I never get to fly with Adam Air, until yesterday. Taking route of Jakarta- Surabaya, I had the last flight of the day at 18.10. There are 4 flights of Surabaya-Jakarta and otherwise, everyday. I got the cheap middle seat, Rp 220.000,- Apparently, the airline placed their passangers according to the class. If Garuda or many other airlines have a rule "checking in first, getting place in front", Adam Air has its own rule of privilege. People who pay more would get better seats. And the gulf ticket is not upgradeable. So, I cannot switch my flight with another early flight. The ticket reservation is 24 hours, by the way.

Located on Terminal 1B, Adam Air counters are easy to find. That is because their major color identity is attractive; orange, yellow, and pale green. Since it's near Christmas, all of the counter crews are wearing Santa Claus red hats... There is also a little Christmas tree placed in front of each counter. Cute and thoughtful, huh :) After I entered the airplane, I realised that there was 8 emergency doors! 4 pre-emergency doors, and 4 emergency doors. There are also 3 restrooms in the plane.

Well, the stewardesses are not pretty. I mean, not as pretty as Garuda. They wear a short leeves tight uniform with strange design and color combination of their 3 major colors. The stewardess outer appearances are just ordinary, but their services are good enough. They served 2 not-so-bad breads and a cup of coffee or tea... Hmm, don't have toothpick, or eating devices craved with the logo... but it's okay-lah.

One of Adam Air lackness is its tendency to delay flights. I got delayed for an hour, and it is really uncomfortable. Especially if you had waited for 20 minutes and had to waited 40 minutes after that. Well, I think Adam Air must do lots of improvement from now on. But for a starter it is not that bad, it is nice actually. I sat near the window (my favourite!) and had the plane left wing displayed clearly through the glass.

Briefly, I would have no problem to fly again with Adam Air in the future, but when I have an important schedule to follow, I wouldn't take my risk... I would definetely choose a more establish airline, such as Garuda Indonesia or Merpati:p
Would you like to try?

HA!!! ADAM AIR!!

Well....
Got bad experience as well with this airlines.
I badly needed ticket to Surabaya last September, since I just arrived from long journey from India and being at home asap is an urgent need. Hmm...ok it was high season, and I can find no more tickets sold (of any airlines!). So having no choice, I bought this Adam Air. For IDR 799.000,00!!!!! ==> Low cost carrier flight?!?!?!
I was pretty sure that the money will go to the counter people's pockets GRRRRR.

It was still 11:30 and the flight would be at 6:00 so I had to wait for 6 hours. I didn't expect any delay but indeed it happened for 45 minutes. When I thought that it's almost time to board, they announced again that there will be more delay for another 40 minutes. What The Fuck!!!! I was very hungry at the time, so easily lost my patience. Ehm...I shouted at them in anger because of this unprofessional behavior (including telling them unpurposely that I was so hungry and need something to eat badly :p).

Well....they gave me nasi goreng then to calm me down. But still....It's what I got by paying IDR 799.000,00!

(ehm...nasi gorengnya enak sih sebenernya :p)

huahahahaha...
That's really something, Moet :D
I can easily visualized when u scolded the air crews, and they had to give you nasi goreng (btw, nasi goreng apa?). Good one! I was also hungry at that time, but I waited and waited... when it was delayed for the 2nd time I went straight to the cafetaria. Well, let's hope the airlines is learning quick... ^o^
