Okey, so here I am...
In the neighbor office (DM, which is the sister company of the company I work in), using G4 Mac computer (in creative division all of the art crews use Mac) while I usually use PC as a copywriter. Well, not that difficult, though. I like the shape and everythin'...
This is the 4th day I work here. Never go home before 7 pm.
But it's kinda fun. I can understand now why people like working in advertising ^__^
People here are nice. Quite nice. I know I hadn't felt comfy the last 3 days since I still figure out the job, the schedule, the rythm, the conversations, the mingle thing...and everything...
I am a talkative person, but only in places where I feel comfy. And finding a place more comfy than Excellogix is very very hard. I can say impossible, since all the staff in Alto are overall at the same ages, have quite similar backgrounds, and usual habits. But here, we really have to adjust with a lot...a looot of characters. Dealing with their habits, and most of all.... compromise.
One easy word. Yet, could be hard to do.
In Excellogix I think I didn't have any problems since I was one of few staff who had been there since the beginning. Here I am a newbie. I haven't even memorize all the names of the staff. I have seen people who are like me in Excellogix... have been in the company since the very beginning... ^o^ And they really cope really well. I think their networking is huge. They got to know all the Production House (PH), clients, Post Production House, Account Executives, stylists, directors, producers, etc. I think if someday they want to build their own company, they are able to do it.
In this profession, trust is the main point.
Competitions between one company to another company (with their brands) is cruel sometimes. But my company is claimed to be one of the normal advertising companies ^__^
I've heard there are companies where the creative staff have to stay until late at nite thinking about ideas while drinking... They usually get the ideas after they are stone (high).
I cannot and will not keep up with that kind of world -_____-
For me, creative doesn't mean get drunk (even I like drinking), partying and act wild. Creative is simply a way of thinking. And... imagine, how could you think big/ outside the box if your head is not corrupted. Brain ability can decrease if you keep on damaging or force it out of limit.
Well, I will make another TVC (TV Commercial) after this. Wish me luck (since we have a though client). But I'm beginning to cope in. Thanks God.
One thing I don't like much about Jakarta. I don't like the language. Not really fond of it. And the habit here is, if you are from outside of West Java, you tend to comprimise and talk with Jakarta accent as well (even though it sounds weird in your ear)... -______-
Me, personally, prefer Surabaya accent. It is more friendly, has wide vocabulary, and easy to pronounced ^o^ But... I've tried talking in Surabaya ways, the result was... they said,
"HUH?! Loe ngomong apa sih? Gua kagak ngarti deh..."
So.... again...compromise, compromise...compromise. I talk in a formal Bahasa Indonesia here.
Still won't use the "gue" "loe" style...hehehe....
