Starting 40 Days of Community

If You can use anything, Lord... You can use me...
If You can use anything, Lord... You can use me...
Take my hands, Lord, and my feet
Touch my heart, Lord, speak to me
If You can use anything, Lord... You can use me...

I've just visited a co-worker from near hospital in East Jakarta. Well, I didn't think that her condition would be that bad. My heart felt pity and kinda sad seeing her like that. She is a fun nice person, and in my head I still can vividly picture her walking around the office lobby and talking to everyone around her. I hope she had a true faith in Jesus, and I do hope God would touch her, heal her, and give the best for her sake. Diabetes is such a strong disease... *sigh*

40 Days of Community

Yesterday, for the first time I actually hear Rick Warren (the author of "Purpose Driven Life") preached through a Video Tape. Well, for the record, Purpose Driven Life is a Best Selling book which sold hundred millions of copy and break the record sale of Christian book in the history. Purpose Driven has now became a Trademark and being follow up around the world. IES is one of the purpose driven church that had been practising 40 days of commitment last year. Now, the time for the second follow up has come... And I can be a part of it.

The book called "Better Together" (What on earth are we here for?) by Rick Warren.
Let love be your highest goal
- 1 Cor. 14: 1

Here's 5 points of summary about why we need each other to fulfill God's Purposes:

1. We fellowship better together (socializing, studying, serving, suffering)

2. We worship better together
- It increases our joy
- It enlarges our perspective
- It guarantees God's presence
- It helps others believe

3. We grow better together
- by accepting each other (people CRAVE for acceptance)
- by affirming each other
- by advising each other
This can only happen in a small group.

4. We serve better together
- by using our talents (our talents are not for our own benefit!)
- by offering our help (love thy neighbor as yourself)
- by sharing our resources

5. We reach out better together
- by using our group to bring ppl to Jesus
- by giving to outreach
- by praying for our city (includes other churches as ONE body of Christ)

I'm joining the music (choir) team last month, and now I'm happy that I joined in a LIFE group. I hope I can be a more Christian than I'd ever been (God knows how bad I am).
Just think about it for one second... how long do u think u're gonna last in this world?
40 years? 60 years? 80 years?
Are you afraid to die?
Are you questioning about life after death?
If those questions make you restless... please do let me know.
And then, perhaps, just perhaps, I can help you...
if you would just open your heart...

It is not I, but Christ within me...

Have a blessed week! ^o^
