Unek-unek:Yesterday I phoned Cimot, and told her that I went on a business trip to Padang. Well, turned out that there were some shocking news I heard from her... A friendly friend that we knew while we were in Bali, Umam, had passed away. He was a Graphic Designer in Hard Rock hotel, husband of Happy, a good friend of Rinaldi. Hmmhh, I guess healthy living is essential indeed...
One unforgetable day...
I was actually having fun.
Padang is better than I expected. The air is clear, the sky is blue, the people is quite nice (well, at least as far as my one-day-experience), and the snacks are crispy! ^_______^ So, here's the complete story of my journey...
Yesterday, myself and Keke were sent to supervised the shooting of one of our brands to Padang. The shooting was scheduled in two days, but due to the clients' bargain it was proceeded in one day *sigh* So, I was picked up early before the sun had risen, at 4.30am, and then we headed to Sukarno-Hatta airport. We waited for Asep's crews and gathered to check in. Wow, I couldn't believe my eyes... The airport was like a bus terminal, which is so crowded and pack of people standing in lines and carrying their bags and cartboard boxes. How can this be yaa? At that hour, people had crowded at the airport. And many times they don't want to queue. Ck, ck, ck... funny...
We arrived at Minangkabau International Airport at 8.30am. We were picked up on time by Shandra and Pak Benny, the distributor head in Padang. As soon as I arrived at the airport I knew I wanted to stay one more nite, so I rushed to the Lion Air locket and asked if we could extend my ticket and Keke. They said that we were late and if we wanna extend it we must pay IDR 300.000 more! Whatt!!
So we left the locket and just canceled our plan to stay longer :(
Pak Benny then drove us along the Padang beach, and took us to a Chinese restaurant. It was located at the China Town area, and the place was just like any other "ala kadar" Chinese restaurant. We ordered some portions of Satay Padang... nyaammm... delicious... even more delicious than ones I ate while in Bali. After eating we rudhed to the shooting location, SMA 1 Padang. The school konon kabarnya was the school of Bung Hatta, the first Indonesian Vice President. Well, we had some interviews with the girls... Walk here, walk there, run sometimes... just being active and ready to capture the moments. We were managed to finish it all before 3 pm. So, we still had some times to eat. We stopped at "Sari Rasa" restaurant, that Inka said as a place that could give you a slight orgasm :D
After eating, I was still curious about the famous snack shop, Christine Hakim. Well, we went there and bought "oleh-oleh" like crazy. Coz we knew we had to be at the airport before 5.30pm. I basically just grabbed anything that looked good in my sight. Karipiak Sanjai,of course, and kacang taujin, sagun, karipiak balado ebi and dried Rendang. Hmm... all looked good and nicely wrapped :)
The weather was not that good. It was proven by the flight *phew*... Sometimes I just wonderin' what it'll be like if I got in a crashing airplane. But when the air turbulance got worse, I wasn't scared at all! Hehehe, you should test your faith like that... Finds out if you are afraid to die or not... :p

I was flying with Lion Air, and it was terrible. If I had to chose, I wouldn't took a flight with Lion air again. But I have to say that the pilot today, Budi Rahman, was pretty excellent. He managed to kept the plane under controlled and landed smoothly. But still, I won't fly with Lion Air if I have the privilege to choose. And I will buy airline tickets with Credit Card (coz they provide extra insurance).
Overall, the trip was nice. I treasure every moment of it. I understand why Riri, Ref and Rei were so proud of their homeland in West Sumatra (and also understand how they grew up so fond of surfing). I hope the goverment could maintain the tourism development and preserve its priceless beauty.
