I Got My Dream Final

Spain will meet Netherlands on World Cup final this weekend... What more could I ask for? I have never imagined that the Spaniards would finally prove themselves as winners. The better news was, this was the second time that they beat Germany! Viva la furia roja!

Spain's progress to their first World Cup final was seen by local media on Thursday as another vindication of their elegant brand of attacking football. Spain's asphyxiating grip on the game may have been down to their ball-playing 'artists' in midfield but it was the shaggy-haired, old warhorse Puyol who was the centre of attention in the papers and on the television news. The Barcelona centre back, 32, is better known for his last-ditch tackles, flailing locks and never-say-die spirit than for his scoring prowess. He had only netted twice in 88 internationals before popping up with Wednesday's vital goal. (- quoted from Reuters)

Not Even 2 Days, But I Miss 'Em Already

My fave teams (Spain, Netherlands, Paraguay) are still keep on going & becoming stronger! But amongst them, I hope that "La Furia Roja" would win the World Cup 2010. They have so many good players, perform beautiful play, committed so little offense (only one yellow card!), and are easy on the eyes :)

The good thing about loving Spain is that I don't have fave player (unlike Santa Cruz of Paraguay) and I can enjoy their game (although I often become a lill' inpatient when they started to play around in the field). For me, each player has their own quality; Casillas (of cuz), Villa, Pique, Puyol, Fabregas, Ramos, oh... and let's not forget, Torres :D

Great job, Spain! On the next match, I'll definitely put it on tape and enjoy it privately (by not joining "nonton bareng" anymore), because my two fave teams are gonna have a battle. May the best team win! (read an article from FIFA.com)

Viva "La Furia Roja" Spain

So finally my favorite team goes through the next round, the knockout stage. This is a sweet beginning for Spain, who lost against France in World Cup 2006 Germany. Well, while Le Bleus team had gone home early on Economy class flight back to Europe, La Roja must fight for their destiny. I would like to see them win the Cup. Chances are quite good; since now they have to face Portugal, and then after that hopefully face Paraguay, and beat either Germany or England in the Semi Final. Lols, I am like prophecy-ing here... If I could see the ultimate final battle of Spain VS Netherlands... Maan, that would be super sweeet! But like we all like to say, a ball is round, and round things always move unpredictably :)

Recap of the last game (Spain VS Chile):

After a long bath and a half-an-hour nap, I kept my eyes wide open for Casillas and team. Torres was playing from the start, along with Villa *the previous goal maker who missed his hat-trick chance*. The referee that night was "el vampiro" Archundia Tellez from Mexico; I liked it. He is now officially my 2nd fave referee after Nishimura of Japan. Torres was trying very hard in the first minutes... Running here and there, but you could see that it was a bit ineffective. Until finally... Torres ran towards the goal and Chilean keeper ran to guard him... and let a wide open space behind him free of guard. The ball was rolling away, then Villa picked it up from 35 yards distance and scored with his weaker left foot! It must be one of the best goals during the World Cup 2010. Wohooo!! Then Estrada kept on targeting Torres' knee that is still in recovery after surgery. Torres was really looking uneasy and worried about his knee. Suddenly, he looked very young and vulnerable to me. Later on, midfielder Iniesta made the second goal for the matadors, right when Torres fell in pain. Red card for Estrada (who already had 1 yellow). The next was a little easy for the Spaniards, but I guess Vicente worried about Torres, that he replaced him with Fabregas. Situations got heated up again, when Chilean player managed to kick the ball into Casillas' goal just few minutes after the 2nd half whistle was blown. Phew, thank God La Roja won the game. Pleaseee be more careful, captain! I like Spain because they have a good clean rhythm in playing (yup, still no yellow cards!). I will pray again for them on their next match against Portugal.What's in it for me? Well, nothing... I just wanna see my two favorites in the final :)

Disappointment.
