The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Based on a novel by Clive Staples Lewis.
Genre: Action/Adventure, Science Fiction/Fantasy and Adaptation
Score: 8,4 out 1 o

The 1st episode of The Chronicles of Narnia: bring your kids and nephews/ nieces to watch this movie with you. I think in overall this movie is not superb or extraordinary somehow, but it does make you think about life and people. At least, I did. The story basically about the adventure of four siblings (2 girls, 2 boys) that found a magic cupboard inside the house they are live in. They can enter the cupboard (but they have to close the door completely first), and then enter a whole new world, called Narnia. Narnia is kinda fantasy land when the King is a lion named Aslan and the followers are animals, but the funny thing the witch is in human form (the "White Witch" Jadis who called herself the Queen of Narnia; I don't like the term "white" that is being used). Haha, I dunno about u guys, but I automaticly think that maybe Lewis did it in purpose and it kinda stated that humans are evil:p The humans were after by the witch to stopped the prophecy. But thanks to the beavers, troops, and Aslan, the four of them can defeat evil.

Well, the story was a bit predictable (some of my friends even say that it was boring!) , the Graphic is not great. You can easily see the double shooting effect between each scene, especially when there are moving scenes. Hmmm... too bad, ya! But the movie itself really give me some reflection on daily basis. You wanna know what are those? Check it out:

1. loyality
The youngest son, Peter, was the rebel one. He was tempted to bring his siblings in order to gain power offered by the witch. If someone is willing to trade others for the sake of himself, well, I guess that person really not dependable and trustable. You also can ask yourself, will you trade your friends/family for your own profit? Think...

2. reliability
The oldest child, Edmund, was always trying to protect his younger siblings. He always careful and sometimes even bossy when it comes to ban something dangerous. But at one time, his siblings really depend on him and he has to reliable enough. Also, all the way, they must choose guidance from people (beavers, in this case) that they can count on. Who can you rely on? Think...

3. bravery
Edmund were being left alone to fought the wolf. Sometimes we were left alone to handle our own problem, so we can grow up and learn responsibility and fear and battle field. If we keep on depending on others, we would be helpless and inadequate all the time.

4. sacrifice
This is my most favourite part of the movie. When Aslan gave himself on the black altar, the evil really mock at him and all its troops laugh. Then the white witch ask why he would do such thing for a betrayer who don't really deserving salvation/ second chance. There may also a chance that the ex-betrayer would go back to the enemy and fight him back. If happened so, then the sacrifation would have no point. Would it? :) Jadis said "...so much for sacrifice"
I instantly remembered Jesus. He who is the Son of God, the Ruler of the earth, willing to came down to earth to redeemed humans. But humans rejected Him, and even crucified Him. He loves us unconditionally and open His arms for forgiveness. So we, filthy humans, can be saved and join Him in heaven. There is always a second chance.
5. second chance
As described above. Peter got his second chance to join the frontliner and defeat evil back. He didn't turn back to the dark side, luckily, and struggle harder to repay all his sins. Well, we as humans who have been redeemed by Jesus should work harder for Him, not so our sins are forgiven (coz it already did!), but as a grateful attitude for being saved.

Well, that was my opinion about the movie. What's your own opinion?
