Top 10 Moments in India

Amongst the itinerary list that my hunny had prepared for me, here are my best moments during my 15d/14n stay in Mumbai and beyond:

Nariman pointAfter visiting MotapaMagnificent party
1. Magnificent 6- home party
What could be better than meeting my hunny's best friend's and got to know how they've interacted one another? His friends are my friends, too... and that night we've had a blast. We drank hard, then laughed hard, and had conversations... Nothing important, really. Just light conversations between 9 drunk happy people :)
2. Meet Motapa
"Motapa" is how my hunny calls his grandpa. He is a fine man, who gives inspirations to his children and grand children. On two Sunday afternoons, we got a chance to chat with him about life... I wish we could get him travel somewhere someday, maybe to Bali?:) May God bless your health, motapa.
3. Day train to Goa
Goa is one state in India that has drawn people (clubbers, backpackers, lovers) from all over the world. We got the chance to visit some of the famous cities in 3 days. Too bad the beaches were too crowded with tourists (like me), and too bad we couldn't find Protestant church in the end (but we've tried). Above all that, our Valentine's day dinner and a visit to Nine bar were memorable.
4. Watching a play at Prithvi
Located in Juhu, just 10 minutes drive from Andheri (W), I think this place is great. The first time we went there to grab a bite, I'd enjoyed the vibe. The crowds at the cafe are also nice and relaxed. My hunny asked me if I wanted to watch "Hamlet- the Clown Prince" play... of course I'd love to! So, on my last day before I went back to Jakarta, we watched the play with Deepak. It was awesome; I felt very entertained... and more than that, somehow I felt that I have loved Mumbai since then. The existence of that small theatre somehow kinda confirmed me that Mumbai is a cultural city which has so much more to discover and learn in the future :)
5. Subway lunch & walk at Nariman Point
On my 4th day, my hunny decided that we should drive to South Mumbai. He'd already said to me during the previous days, "I think you're gonna love South Mumbai... Wait for it. I think you're gonna love it." Lol... so we drive in green convertible gaadi baby of Vishal's and spent like 2 hours on the road! Phew, Mumbai really has population issue (and I think the monorail could absolutely help!)... Cars honking, stealing over other people's way, never want to loose a minute, plus... the rickshaws and crazy taxis :D The driving itself is an experience that you won't soon forget. Anyways, we reached South Mumbai, parked the car near Gateway of India, and then strolling around for 4 hours. It was very nice, especially when my hunny took me to Nariman Point; the buildings where he used to work, NCPA, and had lunch at Subway (a looong turkey sandwich :p) I met many abandoned dogs along the way, and I always had the urge to keep 'em... lol... (My hunny was playing along with me the entire times, eventhough he's more of a cat person, really. Isn't he sweet or what?)

6. Dancing at Polly Esther
Polly Esther is one of the hip club that plays retro music. It's located inside the Gordon house, besides Cafe Mondegar (South Mumbai). That night, we managed to gather as double date, and got crazy dancing. We totally forgot that that day we've been on the road from Pune and back (my hunny had been driving for so long), and just enjoyed the music after 3-4 glasses of Vodka Lime^^ So, it was also memorable for me... And I was so proud when my hunny complimented me about how well I've eaten Indian food in front of his friends. Tenku, p****e, teeenku! (I'd also never knew that I could dance like that before).
7. Dinner at Fiesta
Fiesta on Valentine's day... Tiger shrimps and fine cocktails... Red romantic ambiance, smooth jazz music, and a great company... What more could a woman want? This is our first celebration and hopefully will not be the last.
8. Out of the blue lazy dinner
"Out of the Blue" is located on my favourite area in Mumbai... near Bandra, near Pali Hill fashionable street. After a long day, we'd finally stopped to enjoy a classic fondue with white wine and cheese. Delicious! Too bad the main course wasn't that great... but overal, I'd love to come back for the Fondue. Bandra is just something else.
9. Snacking at Chowpatty
In the movie "Slumdog Millionaire", Jamal was asking the police officer how much does Pani Puree cost in Chowpatty... well, it is cheap, but memorable allright. It's just like "pingjal" in Indonesia, except that these food are extremely hot and I loved it! Amazing that my stomach actually could handle all kinds of Indian foods (in opposite to all the warnings that I've received before I was about to leave). Guys, as long as it's hot and delicious... just eat it! ^^ I had masala pav (I think), while my hunny was having an ice cream dessert... Hmm, I still remember how we ate quietly (cuz we just had a fight) and after that we saw one child (probably 4-5 years old!) strolled on the street alone... Well, I couldn't get the picture out of my head for a while. Let's be grateful with what we have.
10. Dinner at Brito's (plus late night ice cream snacking)
Britto's!! On our 3 days stay in Goa, we'd probably spent 3-4 times eating here! Lol... we had the meat platter twice, and the grilled papad... accompanied with Kingfisher beers. We loved the place so much cuz it's close to where we stayed, "Veronica's place". I enjoyed having Baskin Robin's on our way back to the hostel, and talk... hold hands... smile at each other... talk more. It's the simply thing that makes you melt, really. I'm glad I've took the chance to visit my hunny on January. Would you like to visit India? :)
