Weekend Review: Finally All Those Rehearsals Paid Off

Welcoming June!

Friday to Sunday has been one tiring weekend. IES Music Team is going to release a CD for public which featured 12 songs (created by our talented music pastor), therefore we were having intensive vocal trainings and preparations for one month. Due to that preparation, I decided to stop drinking coffee, cold water/soda, and fried thingy for a week. Oh, and I also ate bananas and apples everyday. Hey, the result is not bad at all... Not bad at all. I'm glad I did that, and managed to stay fit during the week. That's why on Friday, since I got my period and flu signals, I decided to stay at home 'till the recording hour. So, I was juz lazying around on bed 'till about 9, and then had breakfast with the soup that I made the night before, and one pink ripe apple :) Then I watched one chick flick movie starred by Rachel Bilson... Well, just to keep me cheerful and not sleepy.

waitiiing...
I arrived at IES at about 4 and met Pt. Dave on the entrance. I guess he was just checking on things and said good luck to his dear wife. Am I excited about the recording? he asked. Of course! This is the first ever live recording that we're going to do as a team, and I've always like the songs written by our music pastor. He has real talent and I think it's gonna be such a waste if he doesn't share that blessing to the community. We'll never know how far the CDs are gonna travel and distributed, right... We had chicken porridge and orange/ apple for lunch (the good thing is I've eaten less, got my weight reduced), and then waited for sound check etc 'till about 6. After vocalization etc, the recording itself happened only one time, with several songs being repeated due to human errors. In overall, it was so much fun, and it's been a while since we feel closer as a group again. Well, at least for me. It's never about the techniques and the solo performance, but more about willingness to give our best and harmonizing with the whole unity. Leave the rest to God.

Saturday's Best of Luck
What a perfect time to have a relaxing massage, I thought. So I walked to Jl. Proklamasi, and tried the spa for women only, Bloom. I got the number and review from a multiply-ier. This is how I've always found out about good parlor or spa for ladies: either by WOM or Google-ing. Reviews on internet are the best, man! The better you are at finding "keyword", the better result you'll have. So, anyways, I hope other potential clients will read this one day and find out about Bloom-women spa (021-3900945).
They actually have 2 branches, but the other one is at Gandaria. Jauh, bo! I went there and got myself a nice oil massage, accompanied by new age instrumental music and soft yellow light. After more than 60' of pampering (they actually put a small clock in front of you, so that you can keep track), I got one small cup of Ginger tea and cracker. More than that, they even provide bathtub/ bathroom to wash-up afterward (they will provide you paper panty, towel, shampoo, and bath soap). Also, knowing that I 've washed my hair, ItheyNow I know that next time I can just go there and bring Top change only *happy*.

After all relax and clean, I went to IES. I decided not to eat anything, but kept 2 pork bakpao in my bag. We did vocalization and sound test a couple of times, and then just chilling out before the live recording/ concert starts at 6 pm. Some of the ladies were dressing more than usual, alias pengen tampil gitu... Nothing's wrong with that, after all we looked nice, kompak in black and jeans like this :)
the music team

After about an hour concert and live recording, we all gathered on the 9th floor and had pepenero pizza! Nyaam!! Thanks God for the Amareto slice, cuz I just realised how hungry I was. Tiramisu cake from Secret Recipe is not that bad, either. The great thing is we did a good job as a team, and hopefully the mixing and editing will make us sound great... hehehe...

listening the result finally, dinner!

Resting on Sunday? But nooo....

Sunday was supposed to be a lazy day for the music team. This is the only Sunday we don't get scheduled and can attend any service we want during Medieval Service. So, I woke up at about 8.30 and thought about getting up... but then I felt a bit lazy cuz we have a wedding invitation at 3 pm. One of the music team member is getting married at the age of 40 something, and she is going to move to US after she gets her permit. I was planning to go with D, but then one of my friend called me when I was doing my grocery shopping (I'm planning to make banana fritter, soon!) and stopped by at my place. When we arrived at Gran Melia, the wedding ceremony is about to be over, but we did stay for a while to meet the bride and took some pictures (I wore my yellowish kurta from fabIndia) .

I arrived home at about 5 pm, then changed my outfit instantly and went to Snappy @ Tebet area. I remembered that one of my friend wanted to meet the previous day.... So, I called her and offered whether she wanted to meet me at Tebet. She said ok. At about 8, she found me at Snappy and we went to eat dinner @ Tebet Junction. I had "roti bakar Edi" after such a long time. Well, I was happy to be able to meet her and hang out together.

Good news is, next week is not gonna be this packed.
I hope this week goes by fast.
